Zoe Wilson

Hi, I’m Zoe and I founded ReThink HR in 2017. I became an HR professional back in 2003 and have extensive experience of working both in-house and delivering HR consultancy services. I have a passion for people and technology which is reflected in the services that we provide. I have a combination of HR and system expertise, and my experience of running a small business helps to ensure that our clients receive business focused solutions with an understanding of the commercial pressures that we all face.

I could have chosen to specialise in either HR systems (HRIS) or employee relations, however remaining a generalist seems to give me the best of both worlds. To me, this can also be an advantage to you, as I have a working knowledge of the latest HR trends, practices and employment law to bring to your HRIS projects, and I have knowledge of the latest technology to inform how to deliver HR practices efficiently.

My weeks are usually a mix of projects, strategic advice and hands-on HR support as well as running the business. I thrive on building relationships and solving problems. I’m lucky to work with a wide range of sectors, from Creative and Media; Professional Services and Engineering; to the Arts, Not for Profit and Charities. I enjoy using my experience and knowledge to help companies to get the best from their people and to help gain competitive advantage through their people strategy.

I work onsite and remotely, depending on the services that you need. Whilst I’m based in Essex, I’ve delivered projects as far as Yorkshire and East Sussex and enjoy the travel.

Our team is amazing and I’m very proud of the level of trust and respect we’ve built with our clients.  Whether you need a one-off piece of advice, an ongoing retainer or a specific project delivered, we value every client and the relationships we build with them.

Outside of work, I am a huge live music fan; I don’t need an excuse to put my dancing shoes on; I am also a regular scuba diver with a huge passion for travel, food and wine. 

Philippa Barnes

Hi, I’m Philippa.  I’ve been working with Zoe on and off (alongside two periods of maternity leave) since 2013 and was really pleased to be able to join Rethink HR in April 2018 as a Director and Zoe’s business partner. Like Zoe, my working week is varied and I love the wide-ranging remit of the work we do with our clients – one day I’m planning an HR systems project and the next I’m helping to tackle a tricky employee and making the client company run more smoothly.

The best bit about my job is having the opportunity to apply my knowledge, experience and creativity to give my clients great solutions.  I’m proud of the fact that my focus is always getting the right balance between commerciality and ensuring a positive experience for all involved.  We can’t always make the situation better, for example in the case of redundancy, but by having clear process and high standards of communication we can help it to go smoothly and make it as least stressful as possible.

During my career I’ve been fortunate to work in a range of industries from financial services to engineering via food production and independent education.  I’m fascinated with getting to know more about a business, whether we’ve worked together for years or it’s the first time I’m helping them, and my clients benefit from my holistic approach to understanding their priorities.

I pride myself on having very high standards and exacting attention to detail – there’s a reason why I am the one who does the proof-reading for the team!  My clients benefit from my diligence and continuous desire to be learning and improving.

When I’m working on projects, I establish great communication with the key stakeholders from the off and keep the focus on the end results, navigating and resolving any issues which arise along the way.  I am outcome-driven and like nothing more than getting a job done well and allowing everyone to move on to the next challenge in their busy working lives.  I find that, although the approach may vary, all businesses are looking for clear guidance about how to navigate the world and am pleased when I get feedback to confirm they have got that from me.

We are building a great team and know that we all work with similar goals to provide the best support and experience for our clients – our testimonials speak for themselves.

A CIPD qualified HR generalist, I combine a commercial approach with empathy to find the right solutions and deliver results for an organisation and its people. 

I have also been fortunate to lead a number of HRIS implementation projects and discovered that I have a passion for using technology to streamline processes and enable an organisation to spend its time focussing on the bigger picture.

I love getting to know how an organisation and its people operate and delivering tailored solutions across the full HR remit and in the use of HR technology.  Having a strong HR background really helps to unlock the full potential of an HRIS and ensure that it becomes a vital tool for everyone using it.

Working for ReThink HR allows me to bring all of my skills and passions to our clients and I’m very excited to be part of a team that is renowned for delivering results and value.

Outside of work you will generally find me in the gym, on a yoga mat or out and about exploring.

Ali Black

Hi, I’m Ali, I joined ReThink HR in November 2022. I bring a wealth of HR experience, having worked within diverse environments from construction and tech, through to sports and media.

I’m CIPD qualified professional and love to build strong collaborative relationships with clients, vendors and work colleagues, bringing my energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to achieve goals.

My passion lies with planning, developing, integrating and educating users of HR systems that deliver positive business results and improve customer experience. 

I’m excited to be a part of ReThink HR and bring my skills to a high performing team that is passionate about HR systems and technology and delivers fantastic results.

Outside of work, I’m a keen sports fan, both watching and participating (supporting both UK and Aussie teams!) You can find me on a netball or tennis court when I’m not spending the weekend watching football or cricket!

Sarah Prendergast

Hi, I’m Sarah and I joined the ReThink HR team in November 2022, having gained over 25 years’ experience of managing HR System implementations, configurations and overseeing ongoing maintenance and development of HR related systems.  I have worked within a variety of sectors and varying business sizes including Manufacturing, Further Education, International Gaming, Leisure, and Entertainment business, Global Logistics, Oil and Gas, Private Education and Music sectors.

As a Six Sigma Greenbelt, I am very process driven and always aim to eliminate bottlenecks and waste from HR Processes.  My passion is utilising technology to streamline HR processes and introduce automation into day to day working practices.  This in turn reduces transactional activity and administrative pressures on HR teams, which frees up their time to concentrate on value added activities.

I love all things data and numbers and get very excited about HR Analytics and dashboards!

I like to build strong relationship with work colleagues, customers and system vendors as I believe this is key to ensuring projects can overcome any obstacles and achieve great success.

I’m thrilled to a part of the ReThink HR team, we all have different experiences and backgrounds but we all have a shared passion for HR Tech and digital transformation!

In my spare time I swim daily (it’s an obsession!), when I’m not working or at the pool, I regularly go the theatre, have spa days with friends and go on family walks.
